Description
A stunning, shareable appetizer featuring a whole baked brie wheel, wrapped in crispy prosciutto, slathered with garlic butter, and drizzled with spicy hot honey.
Ingredients
Scale
For the Crust:
- 1 (8 oz) wheel of brie cheese
- 1 large round loaf of sourdough or artisan bread
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 4 slices prosciutto
- 3 tablespoons hot honey
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Using a sharp serrated knife, carefully cut a large circle out of the top of the bread loaf. Remove the top and hollow out the inside, leaving about a 1-inch border to create a bread bowl. Tear the removed bread into chunks for dipping.
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley. Brush a generous amount of this garlic butter mixture inside the bread bowl and on the chunks of torn bread.
- Wrap the entire brie wheel with the slices of prosciutto. Place the prosciutto-wrapped brie into the center of the bread bowl. Brush the top of the brie with more of the garlic butter.
- Place the bread bowl on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the brie is soft and melty and the prosciutto is crispy. Add the bread chunks to the baking sheet for the last 10 minutes to toast.
- Remove from the oven. Immediately drizzle the hot honey over the melted brie and bread. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes if desired. Serve immediately with the toasted bread chunks for dipping.
