Description

Decadent cupcakes with a gooey salted caramel center that oozes out when you bite into them.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce (for filling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk, until just combined.
  6. Fill each cupcake liner halfway with batter, add a teaspoon of salted caramel sauce in the center, then top with more batter.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use high-quality sea salt in the caramel. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
