Description

These Korean BBQ meatballs are juicy and flavorful, glazed with a sweet and spicy sauce, and served with a creamy spicy mayo dip for the perfect appetizer or main dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Meatballs:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • For the Korean BBQ Sauce:
  • 1/4 cup gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • For the Spicy Mayo Dip:
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, and ginger. Mix until just combined.
  3. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, prepare the Korean BBQ sauce: In a small saucepan, combine gochujang, soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and honey. Cook over medium heat until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  6. Toss the baked meatballs in the sauce until evenly coated.
  7. For the spicy mayo dip, mix mayonnaise, sriracha, and lime juice in a small bowl.
  8. Serve the meatballs with the spicy mayo dip on the side.

Notes

For a spicier version, add more gochujang to the sauce. Make sure to use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
