An incredibly rich and moist chocolate cake that uses mayonnaise for a tender crumb and deep flavor. You’ll never taste the mayo, just perfect chocolate cake.

For the Crust:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup cold water
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and baking soda until well combined.
- Add the mayonnaise, cold water, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes, until the batter is smooth and well blended.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before frosting or serving.
