A simple yet flavorful steamed fish dish that’s perfect for a healthy main course.


Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 1 whole fish (about 1.5 lbs), cleaned
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 inch piece of ginger, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bunch scallions, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Prepare the fish by making diagonal cuts on both sides and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Place the ginger, garlic, and half of the scallions inside the cavity of the fish.
  3. Steam the fish over boiling water for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through. Drizzle with soy sauce and sesame oil, and garnish with the remaining scallions before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
