Description

These no-bake salted caramel pretzel bars are an irresistible treat combining crunchy pretzels, gooey caramel, rich chocolate, and a hint of sea salt. Perfect for parties or as a quick dessert!

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Crust:
  • 2 cups pretzel crumbs (about 3 cups whole pretzels)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • For the Caramel Layer:
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the Chocolate Layer:
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • For the Topping:
  • 1 cup crushed pretzels
  • Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: In a food processor, pulse whole pretzels until you have 2 cups of crumbs. Mix crumbs with melted butter and sugar. Press into a lined 9×13 inch pan. Chill in fridge.
  2. Make the caramel: In a heavy saucepan, combine cream, sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Cook until temperature reaches 240ยฐF (soft ball stage). Remove from heat, stir in salt and vanilla. Pour over crust and chill for 1 hour.
  3. Add chocolate layer: Melt chocolate chips and butter in microwave, stirring every 30 seconds. Spread over caramel layer. Sprinkle with crushed pretzels and flaky salt. Chill for 2 hours until set.
  4. Cut into bars and serve. Store leftovers in fridge.

Notes

Use fresh pretzels for best texture. Be careful not to burn the caramel. For thicker bars, use an 8×8 pan.
