Description
A hearty and comforting one-pot meal featuring ground beef, elbow macaroni, and a rich tomato sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
For the Crust:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 large yellow onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
- Stir in the paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Add the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil.
- Stir in the uncooked elbow macaroni. Reduce heat to a simmer, cover, and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until pasta is tender, stirring occasionally.
- Let the goulash sit for 5 minutes off the heat to allow the sauce to thicken before serving.
