Description

A wonderfully moist and tender cake bursting with fresh citrus flavor, topped with a simple, sweet orange glaze.

For the Crust:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • Zest of 1 large orange
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Then whisk in the oil, fresh orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined and no dry streaks remain. Do not overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely. Drizzle with orange glaze if desired.
