Description

A simple and delicious dump cake version of classic pecan pie, featuring layers of pecans, butter, and cake mix for an easy dessert.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 can (15 oz) pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spread pecans evenly in the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, mix pumpkin puree, brown sugar, and cinnamon; spread over pecans.
  4. Sprinkle cake mix evenly over the pumpkin layer.
  5. Drizzle melted butter over the top.
  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes until golden and set.
  7. Cool before serving.

Notes

For a nuttier flavor, toast the pecans before using. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
