Description

Delicious cookies combining peppermint and chocolate flavors for a festive treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup crushed peppermint candies

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and crushed peppermint candies.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For a stronger peppermint flavor, add peppermint extract to the dough. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
