- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup crushed peppermint candies
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and crushed peppermint candies.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For a stronger peppermint flavor, add peppermint extract to the dough. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
