Description

A decadent dessert combining red velvet cake with creamy cheesecake swirled into brownie bars.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese and 1/2 cup sugar until smooth. Add 1 egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla, then mix in the red food coloring.
  4. In a large bowl, mix the melted butter and 1 cup sugar. Add 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon vanilla, then stir in the dry ingredients until combined.
  5. Spread the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Dollop the cheesecake mixture on top and swirl with a knife.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool before cutting.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use high-quality cocoa powder. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
