Ingredients

  • 8 ounces rotini pasta
  • 1 pound Italian sausage, sliced
  • 2 medium apples, cored and diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the rotini pasta according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the sliced Italian sausage over medium heat until browned; remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until softened.
  4. Add the diced apples and cook for 3-4 minutes until they start to soften.
  5. Return the sausage to the skillet and pour in the chicken broth; simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and season with salt and pepper; cook for another 2 minutes.
  7. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to combine everything evenly.
