A flavorful stir-fried rice dish featuring tender beef strips, onions, and aromatic spices for a quick and satisfying meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked jasmine rice
  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced into strips
  • 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 green onions, chopped for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced beef strips and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until browned and tender. Remove from the wok and set aside.
  3. In the same wok, add the remaining oil and sauté the onions and garlic for 2-3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  4. Push the onions and garlic to one side of the wok and pour in the beaten eggs. Scramble the eggs until just cooked, then mix with the onions.
  5. Add the cooked rice to the wok, stirring to combine with the onions, garlic, and eggs.
  6. Return the beef strips to the wok and pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Stir-fry everything together for 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper to taste, and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

For the best results, use day-old rice to prevent it from becoming mushy. Ensure the beef is sliced thinly for quick and even cooking.
