Description

This easy and flavorful sheet pan chicken shawarma with Havarti cheese makes for a delicious sandwich, perfect for a quick meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless chicken thighs, sliced
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 sandwich rolls
  • 8 slices Havarti cheese
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • Tahini sauce for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix yogurt, olive oil, garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add chicken to the marinade and toss to coat; let sit for 10 minutes.
  4. Spread chicken on the sheet pan and bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
  5. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes.
  6. Assemble sandwiches by placing chicken on rolls, topping with Havarti cheese, onion, lettuce, tomato, and tahini sauce.

Notes

For extra flavor, grill the sandwiches after assembling. Ensure chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
