Description

A classic Italian pasta dish with tomatoes, olives, capers, and anchovies.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 anchovy fillets, chopped
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup black olives, pitted and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons capers
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and anchovies, and sauté for 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in diced tomatoes, olives, capers, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Drain the spaghetti and add it to the skillet. Toss to combine.
  5. Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

For a spicier version, increase the red pepper flakes. This dish is best served fresh.
