For the Crust:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  6. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
