- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 egg, beaten for egg wash
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
- In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Spoon the cream cheese mixture onto the center of each heart pastry.
- Top with sliced strawberries and fold the edges of the pastry to create a border, then brush with beaten egg.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
For a sweeter version, add more powdered sugar to the cream cheese mixture. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
