For the Crust:
- 4 large sweet onions
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat the oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
- Peel and cut a small slice off the top and bottom of each onion, then make a shallow cross-cut on the top.
- Place onions in a baking dish, sprinkle with salt and pepper, then top with cheese and breadcrumbs. Dot with butter.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes until the topping is golden brown.
