Description

A rich and decadent pie featuring chocolate and pecans, perfect for holidays.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Crust:
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled
  • Filling:
  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Step 2: In a medium bowl, mix together the flour and salt. Cut in the chilled butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add cold water as needed to form a dough. Roll out on a floured surface and fit into a 9-inch pie pan.
  3. Step 3: In a large bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Step 4: Stir in the chocolate chips and pecan halves.
  5. Step 5: Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.
  6. Step 6: Bake in the preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes, or until set. Cool before serving.

Notes

For a flakier crust, chill the dough for 30 minutes before rolling.
