- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled
- Filling:
- 1 cup dark corn syrup
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cups pecan halves
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Step 2: In a medium bowl, mix together the flour and salt. Cut in the chilled butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add cold water as needed to form a dough. Roll out on a floured surface and fit into a 9-inch pie pan.
- Step 3: In a large bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Step 4: Stir in the chocolate chips and pecan halves.
- Step 5: Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.
- Step 6: Bake in the preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes, or until set. Cool before serving.
Notes
For a flakier crust, chill the dough for 30 minutes before rolling.
