- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 eggs
- 1 can (15 oz) pumpkin puree
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 pre-made pie crust
- Whipped cream for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
- Prepare the cake batter according to package instructions and set aside.
- In a separate bowl, mix pumpkin puree, sugar, and spices to make the pie filling.
- Press the pie crust into a pie pan and pour in the pumpkin filling.
- Bake the pie for 15 minutes, then remove and let cool slightly.
- Pour half of the cake batter into a greased cake pan, place the baked pie on top, and cover with the remaining batter.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool completely before serving with whipped cream.
