A classic dessert pie featuring apples and toffee.

- For the crust: 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
- For the filling: 6 cups thinly sliced apples (Granny Smith or similar)
- 1 cup toffee bits
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, combine flour and salt; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until dough forms.
- Roll out dough on a floured surface and line a 9-inch pie dish.
- In another bowl, toss sliced apples with sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Stir in toffee bits and pour filling into the pie crust.
- Cover with top crust, seal edges, and cut slits for steam.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for the best flavor.
