For the Crust:
- 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup M&Ms
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla; beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin). Pour batter into prepared pans.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pans to wire racks to cool completely. Frost as desired and top with M&Ms.
