A classic chopped steak recipe featuring seasoned ground beef patties served with a savory onion gravy.
Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil for frying
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon flour
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side until browned.
- Remove patties and set aside. In the same skillet, add flour and stir to make a roux.
- Gradually add beef broth, stirring until thickened to make gravy.
- Return patties to the skillet and simmer in gravy for 10 minutes.
Notes
For a healthier version, use lean ground beef and low-sodium broth.
