Description
A classic sandwich featuring thinly sliced steak, melted cheese, caramelized onions, and peppers on a soft hoagie roll.

- 1 pound ribeye steak, thinly sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- Optional: mushrooms, sliced
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
- Add the sliced onions and bell peppers to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes; remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining oil and cook the thinly sliced steak with salt and pepper until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
- Return the onions and peppers to the skillet and stir to combine with the steak.
- Place slices of provolone cheese over the mixture and cover the skillet until the cheese melts, about 1-2 minutes.
- Divide the mixture evenly among the hoagie rolls and serve immediately.
Notes
Use high-quality ribeye for the best flavor; for a twist, add hot peppers or mushrooms.
