Description

These baked donuts are a heart-shaped treat perfect for Valentine’s Day, featuring a soft texture and a sweet vanilla glaze.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons milk, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  8. For the glaze: Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  9. Dip the cooled donuts into the glaze and let them set on a wire rack.

Notes

Use heart-shaped donut molds for a Valentine’s theme. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
