Description

A delicious vegan twist on a classic Danish pastry filled with fresh strawberry cream.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup vegan butter, chilled
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1/2 cup vegan cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour and chilled vegan butter until crumbly.
  2. Warm almond milk and dissolve yeast in it; add to flour mixture.
  3. Knead dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
  4. Prepare filling by mixing strawberries, vegan cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla.
  5. Roll out dough, add filling, and fold into Danish shape.
  6. Bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes until golden.
